Michael grew up in Kentucky and worked in the information technology field before moving to Fort Myers in 1999. His family had vacationed here for 10 years and just adored the area. An avid golfer, boater and fisherman, he has two grown children – a daughter and a son. Michael worked for 15 years with UPS in a variety of roles, including as an industrial engineer. His training and experience managing projects helped him build his own business. This drive did not stop when he retired from UPS at an early age and did not stop when he founded and later sold his internet company. Michael now uses his extensive background in logistics and technology to guide the operations and business growth of Royal Shell, an independent luxury real estate brokerage and rental company. Michael has earned the following real estate designations: Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), awarded to the top 4% in the nation; ePRO, awarded to technologically proficient Realtors; Graduate Real Estate Institute (GRI); and is a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain. Michael became the first Realtor in Southwest Florida and the 11th in the state to earn the Accredited Seller Representative (ASR) designation, which encompasses actual performance and education. Because of his experience and education, he is a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) and a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing. He also earned the CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) designation and is NVSI-Certified (National Valuation Standards Institute) to perform Broker Price Opinions (BPO).

To be candid, Nykkie’s dream was not always to be a vacation rental professional. Graduating from Grand Valley State University with a communications degree in theater, she always wanted to pursue a life of creativity and exploration. After living in Manhattan and Chicago during her 20s, she found herself despising the snow and cold, sunless days. In 2008, Nykkie found her way to Fort Myers and was hired as a reservation agent on Sanibel Island. Her love for the area and the vacation rental industry has grown congruently over the last decade. This business became a passion she never longed for but now cannot see herself without. The owners, guests, and amazing team members she works with every day have made her career satisfying in a way she never expected. Taking full advantage of the mentoring available to her, and after gaining experience as a reservation agent, a housekeeping and maintenance coordinator, an owner relations manager, and a revenue manager, she is proud of the team she is now helping to grow in her current role. Through cultivating interpersonal dynamics, developing a culture of service, and improving accountability, Nykkie and her team have been able to create a new experience for Royal Shell clients. And, she is very thankful to be working for a company that allows her to enjoy her passion. She is the founder and vice president of a not-for-profit theater company in Fort Myers, so she is also able to create and explore every day, just as she had dreamed.
Director of Operations - Sanibel & Captiva
Siggi was born in Germany where his father was a master pastry chef. His mom and dad chose to immigrate to the United States when he was young, and ended up calling Portland, Maine, their home. Siggi was bitten by the travel bug early. After high school, he returned to Germany to learn the bakery business the old-fashioned way, and he did, but it just was not for him. Upon his return to the U.S., he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, spending the next five years traveling the globe in service to our nation. After his enlistment, Siggi returned to Maine where he worked in the ski business. He eventually moved to Pennsylvania, where he was hired by Sports Authority as an area manager. It was there that he met a young lady with two small children, and fell in love. He quickly rose to the top and was offered a promotion. He traded his snow shovel and skis for palm trees and flip-flops. Yes, they moved him to Fort Myers, Florida, where he managed multiple stores. Siggi has called Fort Myers home for the past 23 years. The retail life was a lot of hours and he eventually burned out, and so did the marriage. But don’t feel too bad — this story has a happy ending! Siggi got his Florida real estate license and practiced actively from 2000 to 2007. Then he took his knowledge of real estate and began to travel all over the U.S. and Canada, teaching real estate investment classes. Over the next 12 years, he logged more than two million miles flying, and more than 2,000 hotel nights. It was here that he became an expert guest, with a great appreciation for outstanding customer service. When he was offered an opportunity with Royal Shell Vacations, he jumped at the chance to work for such a prestigious company with an outstanding reputation. This is a place that will challenge him and allow him to employ in his interactions with Royal Shell owners and guests the skills he amassed during years of travel. He has a love for all New England sports, golf and, above all, still loves to travel.
Director of Rental Operations
Catherine is originally from Pasadena, Maryland, where everything in life is boating, crab cakes and football. While she loves all of those things, her true passion is music. Even when she was just four years old, her parents began to see the passion that was growing in their little girl. When Catherine was 14 years old, her parents decided it was time to turn in their snow boots for flip-flops and move the family to Cape Coral, Florida. After settling in Cape Coral, Catherine decided to focus on her true passion – singing. Her parents were the supportive driving force through it all. It wasn’t long before she had gigs every weekend and participated in singing competitions that earned her the title of Female Vocalist for the State of Florida six years in a row with the Country Music Association. At 16 years old, she held the same title that LeAnn Rimes did in the National Country Music Association competition in Las Vegas. She also opened for national acts including Little Feat, John Anderson (three times), O-town, Inner Circle, and Hank Williams III. Catherine’s parents instilled structure and independence in her when she was young and suggested that she also get into the real estate business, as they have been Realtors for more than 35 years. By the time she was 20, Catherine had earned her degree in music and her real estate license. The first five years in the business she sold homes Rent-to-Own, helping buyers purchase homes with owner financing. Catherine fell in love with helping people find their dream home and giving them the ability to finance it. With this new-found passion, she quickly advanced to property manager and office manager roles, where she realized she had a passion for creating structure merging real estate with property management. Having the ability and opportunity to piece together every function of an operation and watch it grow is one of her greatest joys. This is where she found her career with Royal Shell. As Director of Operations for our Rental Division, Catherine has found her home and her family. She strives to provide her team with support, integrity, positivity, passion and encouragement to provide our guests and our property owners with Royal Shell’s white glove customer service. So although the small-town Maryland girl still loves her Old Bay seasoning, she won’t trade her palm trees, flip-flops and paradise.

Cameron was born in New Jersey in February 1967, joining the clan Anholt with sister Morganna, father Jim and mother Betty. The family moved to Fort Myers, then to Sanibel in 1968. The only home he remembers and loves is Sanibel and Captiva. He likes to say that he sleeps in Fort Myers but home is Sanibel. He has seen a lot of changes on the islands in the past 50+ years, and is very grateful that island residents and visitors are still as community and nature orientated as they ever were. Cameron has been in the vacation rental industry since 1985. Yes, even before he graduated cum laude from Cypress Lake High School. Cameron has worked in the rental industry from the ground up, starting as a linen attendant at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa and working every position through housekeeping, maintenance, reservations, owner relations and property management. When he isn’t working, Cameron enjoys exploring Florida’s natural environment and basking in its delights. He also enjoys learning and finds Florida history thought provoking. It’s one of his favorite topics to explore. A few local historic points of interest include Punta Rassa, near the Causeway tollbooth. Did you know it was the first place in the United States to receive news of the sinking of the USS Maine? Did you know training for the Bay of Pigs invasion was done in Southwest Florida waters? Have you heard the story about the Sanibel Lighthouse, which was first lit on August 20, 1884? As it was being transported, the barge hit a sandbar off Sanibel and fell into the very waters for which it was being sent to be an aid to navigation. When outdoors, Cameron loves hiking and photography. His other interests include kayaking, geocaching, visiting Florida’s natural springs, going to and being part of theater productions, cinema and music to name just a few. It is not the destination but the experience you share in your effort to get there.

Born and raised on a farm in Minnesota, Kris was brought up with down-to-earth values and hard work ethics, which still drive her today. She moved to Florida in 1972 when her family migrated to the Sunshine State. She says it was the best thing she has ever done! She loves being outdoors year-round – hiking, camping, kayaking, gardening, and going to the beach – all with her little rescued cockapoo, Beckham, at her side. Kris began working on Sanibel Island in 1979 in a dental office. In 2007, she joined the owner relations team at Royal Shell Vacations. She enjoys the vacation business because she is excited to share island adventure stories with guests, help them plan their own adventures, and build lasting relationships with them and vacation property owners. Kris likes to think outside the box to resolve guest and owner issues with a strong core ethic of fairness and compromise, of doing the right thing, while providing legendary Royal Shell service.
