Picture your toes in the sand, the sun on your face, and a margarita in hand, without a care in the world. Whether you have it before, after, or on the beach, an island vacation isn’t complete without a cool beverage.

Here’s a Recipe for a Classic Margarita:

Time: 10 minutes

Makes: 4 servings

You’ll need:

  • Rocks glasses
  • Coarse salt
  • 1 cup of tequila
  • 2/3 cup of fresh lime juice
  • 1/3 cup of orange-flavored liqueur
  • 2 teaspoons of superfine sugar
  • Ice
  • Cocktail shaker

Directions:

  1. Rub the rim of the glasses with a lime and dip in coarse salt
  2. Fill glasses three-quarters of the way with ice
  3. Mix the following in a cocktail shaker: 1 cup of tequila, 2/3 cup of lime juice, 1/3 cup of orange liqueur and 2 teaspoons of superfine sugar
  4. Shake well
  5. Pour into glasses and garnish with a lime
  6. Enjoy!

For a tropical twist, try using orange juice and extra lime juice. Or you can add some blackberries and raspberries!

For a Frosty Twist, Try This Frozen Margarita Recipe:

Time: 10 minutes

Makes: 4 servings

You’ll need:

  • Rocks glasses
  • 1/3 cup of coarse salt
  • 3/4 cup of tequila
  • 2/3 cup of fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup of simple syrup
  • 5 cups of ice cups
  • Lime wedges for garnish
  • Cocktail shaker

Directions:

  1. Puree ice, tequila, lime juice and simple syrup in a blender until smooth.
  2. Rub the rims of the glasses with a lime and dip in coarse salt.
  3. Pour into glasses and garnish with a lime.
  4. Enjoy!
