UPDATE ON HURRICANE IAN

Tuesday, September 27, 2022, 1:15 PM EDT

We continue to monitor Hurricane Ian closely. Lee County has ordered mandatory evacuations for all barrier islands, including Sanibel, Captiva, and Fort Myers Beach. The mandatory evacuation order also includes low-lying portions of Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, and Estero. Collier County has issued voluntary evacuations at this time. We urge you to stay informed, and heed local authorities’ direction.

Because many of our staff members live in these areas, we closed our offices at 1:00 PM today so our team members can secure their own homes and families. We will have phone lines open and be checking and replying to emails, for as long as we have service.

It is likely we will lose power at some point today or tomorrow. Should we lose the ability to communicate, we will begin returning calls and emails as soon as it is restored and we are able.

Monday, September 26, 2022, 5:00 PM EDT

We continue to monitor Hurricane Ian in the Gulf of Mexico. The State of Florida, Lee County, and Collier County are all currently under a State of Emergency. It is important to understand that the state and local governments do this as a preemptive measure so that funds can be allocated, should they be needed.

Currently, our offices and entire operation are open though we do expect to close our Vacation Rental offices tomorrow, Tuesday, September 26th, at 1:00 pm. This will allow our staff to secure their own homes and families. Though, we will be answering calls if possible.

Some coastal islands may announce Voluntary Evacuations. Should you choose to stay in the property, please let our team know so that we can assist.

We will continue to update this page as the forecast changes.

Rest assured, your Royal Shell Vacations team will perform due diligence as required, ensuring that both personal safety and property management are at the forefront of any action.

Guests of Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach, and Cape Coral. Please be aware; should sustained winds reach 45 MPH, the Sanibel Causeway & The bridge to Fort Myers Beach as well as the bridges to Cape Coral could close. Again, please follow local radio and television stations for updates.

We thank you again for choosing Royal Shell Vacations and welcome your call if we may answer any additional questions. You may call us at (855) 829-4976. Our office hours are 8:00 am – 7:00 pm Eastern Time Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm Eastern Time on Sunday. After Hours – 239.472.9111.

Coronavirus Vacation Rental Safety Guidelines

Guest safety and cleanliness guidelines have always been a top priority for Royal Shell guests. In these uncertain times, we have enacted Coronavirus vacation rental safety guidelines to ensure you can book your Royal Shell vacation with confidence and enjoy all of our vacation rentals.

Ensuring the safety of our guests is Royal Shell’s number one priority. Our staff and Housekeeping Department take precautions to maintain clean and safe environments to protect the health, safety, and security of our guests in our rental properties and at our offices. We know that keeping our properties sanitized and clean is vitally important.

Here are some of the steps we take to provide the best guest service possible.

LINENS

  • We direct our chemical distributor to adjust our settings to maximize the sanitation process.
  • Water temperatures in our robotic washers average 140 degrees.
  • The pH level of chemicals is 14.
  • Dryer temperatures are set to reach 180 degrees.

GUEST SERVICES

  • Cleaners are instructed to sanitize TV remotes, doorknobs, and other frequently touched items and high-touch surfaces.
  • Keys are always sanitized after checkout.
  • We sanitize our offices daily and enact the practice of social distancing. Washing your hands in our offices is also important.
  • We mandate increased frequency of handwashing and sanitizing with disinfectant wipes, reinforce proper handwashing and cleaning protocols and provide additional hand sanitizer for guests in all retail locations.
  • Any employee who is ill is asked to stay home.
  • We continually monitor and implement updated recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to do our part to protect our guests, business partners, community, and employees.

These measures to ensure guest safety are part of our standard cleaning procedures to make you feel at ease when renting a vacation home. Our Housekeeping Department has verified with our cleaners that they are following our already high standards, and also are in compliance with the CDC’s recommendations. Guest safety is always our top priority and we are more vigilant than ever with our cleaning practices during this Coronavirus pandemic.
