Welcome to Black Bear Rock, a fully renovated luxury mountain retreat in the breathtaking mountains of Sapphire Valley.  This home is thoughtfully designed for families, executive groups, and multi-generational gatherings who value space, privacy, and elevated comfort. With two expansive family rooms on separate levels, and multiple private king suites, Black Bear Rock will comfortably host up to 13 guests.  Enjoy expansive mountain views, a private hot tub, and a custom fire pit designed for relaxed evening gatherings.

Main Living & Gathering Spaces
Upon entering, you'll be greeted by stunning tall ceilings, exquisite art, and exposed beams that extend throughout.  The main-level living room provides spectacular mountain views, provided by floor to ceiling windows all controlled with electronic blinds at the touch of a button.  The living room is also equipped with a large flat-screen TV, streaming services, a cozy gas burning fireplace, and a Sonos surround sound system that extends throughout the house.  Fiber-optic internet, convenient charging stations, and easy Wi-Fi access points ensure seamless connectivity. 

Kitchen & Dining
The chef’s kitchen is perfect for preparing meals and entertaining guests.  Featuring a gas range, double ovens, an oversized island, premium coffee system (plus drip maker) a variety of culinary accessories, and a convenient breakfast bar that seats three.  Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area comfortably seats up to 14 guests and offers a stunning view of the mountains, making it perfect for hosting dinners with friends.

Bedrooms & Private Retreats

• -Main-Level Primary Suite: King bed, seating area, flat-screen TV, and a private balcony with a wood-burning fireplace-perfect for enjoying your own private mountain view.  The ensuite bath offers a spa-like experience with heated floors, dual shower heads, and an oversized soaking tub- all perfect for a restorative experience after a day outdoors.
• - Bunk Room (Main Level): Twin bunk beds with trundle (sleeps 5), bean bag seating area, and flat-screen TV—perfect for kids. 
•  -Upper-Level Primary Suite:  A private retreat featuring an enclosed, loft-style living area and workspace, ideal for reading, relaxing, or working remotely.  Has its own private bathroom.

Lower Level Entertainment & Additional Space 

• -Second Living Room: Enjoy movies on the large flat screen TV, cozy up by the fire or try your hand at BBR’s custom-created arcade game! 
•  -Third King Suite: Fireplace, seating area, flat-screen TV, and beautiful mountain views, with a full bath located just across the hall. 
• -Bonus Kids’ Room: Twin bunk beds with toys and activities for additional sleeping and play space.

Outdoor Living Experience

• -Screened Covered Decks: Dining and gathering flow seamlessly from indoors to out.  Relax and enjoy an evening barbecue on Traeger grill and wood pellet smoker.
• -Hot Tub: Step outside to relax in a large hot tub and accompanying deck perfect for sunbathing or stargazing.
• -Fire Pit: Custom fire pit with seating for up to 14 creates a natural gathering space—perfect for roasting s’mores and sharing stories

Sapphire Valley Resort Amenities (Optional)
This home offers the option to purchase access to Sapphire Valley Resort amenities (located a short drive away). Passes are $5/day or $25/week per person and include:
•    Indoor & outdoor pools, hot tubs, and sauna 
•    Fitness center, game room, and mini golf 
•    Tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts 
•    Playground, picnic areas, and community center 
•    9-hole golf course, ziplining, and access to Fairfield Lake
•    Seasonal ski discounts and organized excursions 

Your reservation includes a damage protection plan. The damage protection plan is $50, and it covers up to $3,000 in damages. In lieu of purchasing the damage protection plan, guests have the option to choose a refundable security deposit. If you would like to pay a refundable security deposit, please contact us. The security deposit is $500 and will be administered subject to the NC Tenant Security Deposit Act.
