Nothing says “vacation” like a Rum Runner! Invented in the 1950s in the Florida Keys, this cocktail is always a favorite whether you’re on vacation or getting in the mood for one. Some like it shaken, some like a blended frozen version. Take your pick or try it both ways!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups ice
- 1 oz. pineapple juice
- 1 oz. orange juice
- 1 oz. blackberry liqueur
- 1 oz. banana liqueur
- 1 oz. light rum
- 1 oz. dark or aged rum
- 1 splash grenadine
- Optional: 151 rum, orange slice
On the rocks:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the liquid ingredients, cover and shake. Strain into a hurricane glass over ice. Make it dangerous: Pour a 151 rum floater into the straw and over the top. Garnish with an orange slice and take a sip. It’s a vacation in a glass!
Blended frozen:
Fill your blender with ice and add all of the liquid ingredients. Blend until smooth. Pour into a hurricane glass. Add the 151 rum floater and garnish with an orange slice. Enjoy!
